The Costa Calero offers good value four star accommodation in the upmarket marina of Puerto Calero.
Although more upmarket and contemporary in look and feel than many of the hotels in Lanzarote, the Iberostar Costa Calero welcomes families with children as well as couples and business people / convention guests.
There is no beach at Puerto Calero however the hotel offers plenty to do with a variety of Sports on offer in the hotel grounds as well as all the facilities of the Marina which is next door. There is also a free (daytime) bus service to the large neighbouring resort of Puerto del Carmen.
The Costa Calero Hotel has 20,000 square metres of grounds which have been landscaped with a contemporary design but also fit in well with the natural environment of Lanzarote. There is also a large central pool complex with views of the Atlantic. Set back — and uphill — from the marina at Puerto Calero, the hotel offers truly outstanding views across the Atlantic towards the Punta Gorda and out to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura which can be reached by ferry from Playa Blanca.
The Hotel Costa Calero has a variety of rooms all of which are furnished tastefully and to a comfortable standard. They vary from Standard Rooms to Suites and Senior-Suites. As you would expect there are plenty of sun-loungers and parasols which are free of charge to guests of the hotel. The main reception has a foreign currency desk.
Eating at the Costa Calero is a very pleasant experience with several restaurants available from the “Mouro” Piano Bar to more formal restaurants. Of course if you do fancy eating out, there are many restaurants in the Marina of Puerto Calero itself catering for a wide variety of tastes and styles from all corners of the Globe.
Costa Calero guests can use the sports facilities free of charge including, Aerobics, Air-rifle shooting, Archery, Darts, Shuffleboard, Table-tennis and Volleyball. There is also an up to the minute fitness centre should you care to use it. Billiards and mountain-biking — not much of a contrast — can be enjoyed at an extra cost, some of the surrounding countryside can best be enjoyed on a bike and the dirt-track to Playa Quemada is an experience not to be missed.
