Tourists are in for a tasty treat this coming weekend as the fourth annual Tapas Fair will be taking place in the resort of Puerto del Carmen on Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of September, in an event that is designed to showcase the very best in island gastronomy.

Organised by Saborea Lanzarote, a body dedicated to promoting local produce and promoting the island as a culinary destination, the festival will feature cooking contests, show cooking and live music, as well of course as a whole host of tasty tapas offerings prepared by some of the island's leading chefs.

In season locally caught tuna will also be very much to the fore and fittingly the event gets underway in the Old Town harbour area on Saturday from 19.00.
