Head for Arrecife this coming Saturday, February 6th to take in some tasty tapas, as the first major culinary festival of the year gets underway in the island capital.

The event has been organized by Arrecife’s tourist department and will take place along the Avenida Maritima on the seafront, close to the La Recova market from mid day until midnight. Featuring some fantastic food from 25 of the capital’s leading restaurants.

Arrecife’s annual Tapas Festival has steadily grown in stature since its initial inauguration in 2012 and now forms an integral part of the Carnival Calendar. So visitors will also be able to eat to the beat as the massed drums of local batucada bands parade through the streets from the Parque Maritimo to the Parque Islas Canarias from mid day onwards.

The Tapas Festival also boasts its own live musical accompaniments, in the form of performances from the Orquestra Platini de Valencia and Joe’s Band, as well as a stint behind the decks from DJ Maxi.
