If you like cheese you´ll love these two tasting days, taking place in Uga this weekend, the 6th and 7th of May. As both professional local judges and tourists are invited to sample no less than forty of Lanzarote´s best cheeses.

Goats cheese is a traditional local product and there are scores of artisanal dairies and small scale producers on Lanzarote - many of them represented by AQUAL - the Artisin Cheesemaking Association of Lanzarote. In tandem with the local island government they are staging a special tasting contest this weekend in the heart of this picturesque village. Which will also run alongside the weekly agri-market on Saturday morning from 09.00 until 13.30.

Locally produced wines will also be sampled and folklore groups will be rounding off festivities on both Saturday and Sunday at 13.30.
