SOUND & VISION Festival Of Visual Music Returns
It´s been a long interval, but now Lanzarote´s once famous festival of Visual Music is returning to the island after an absence of 15 years.
The concept for this event originally evolved back in 1989 under the aegis of artist Ildefonso Aguilar. Who matched some of Lanzarote´s most unique spaces, such as the Jameos del Agua, with avant-garde musicians such as Brian Eno and Michael Brook to create a contemporary arts and music festival which ran very successfully through until 2002, attracting both world renowned performers and large audiences alike.
Now, the local island government has put their weight behind the rejuvenation of this event - and the 2017 Festival of Visual Music returns from October 3rd. Encompassing a wide range of events, such as exhibitions and film screenings at the El Almacen Culutal Centre in Arrecife, as well as performances by some of the world´s leading avant-garde musicians, such as Tord Gustavsen at the Jameos del Agua on October 7th and Landscape Project at the Cuevas de Los Verdes on October 20th.
Tickets for all events are now on sale - for bookings and more information visit the official Festival of Visual Music website.
