SUB SONIC New Concert Series At Green Caves
The highly atmospheric environs of the Cuevas de los Verdes in the North of the island plays host to a new series of innovative concerts, starting tomorrow - Saturday November 4th. With a live performance by symphonic wind instrument quintet Khufu-Anch.
The five handed Khufu-Anch ensemble are a product of the Canary Islands Conservatory of Music and take their name, rather obscurely, from the musical director of the court of the 3000 BC Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenatan.
They will be showcasing chamber music classics from composers such as Bizet and Greyeg, utilising the pefect natural accoustics within the caves, from 20.00 and tickets are still available priced at 20€ - available online here from he official CACT website.
This new series of concerts runs across the winter months and the performers have all been selected as a result of a competition organised by Lanzarote´s tourist centres to inject more creativity and originality into this year´s programme.
The next event takes place on December 9th and features locally born pianist Samuel Aguilar, who will be performing improvisations on his recent recording Night Thinking.
