The Original Wailers, one of whom backed Bob Marley during the mid-1970’s, will be paying homage to the reggae legend live in Arrecife on March 9th. Online tickets are priced at 18 euros and can be purchased from the Tomatickets website or for 22 euros on the night from the venue at the Recinto Ferial.

Purists will argue that the title Original Wailers is a little misleading, as this line up does not in fact include any members of the original group from the 1960’s at all. A situation made even more confusing by the creation of another Wailers reunion act in 2016.

Instead The Original Wailers were first formed in 2008 by Al Anderson, who didn’t start recording and performing with Bob Marley until 1974 and Junior Marvin (of Police and Thieves fame, who left in 2011).

However Al Anderson is widely respected within the reggae world as an authentic carrier of Bob Marley’s flame, playing lead guitar on seminal albums such as Natty Dread, Survival and Live! whilst also touring extensively with Marley around the world. And The Original Wailers have earned glowing reviews on previous visits to the island.
