Wine and Food Weekend At Marina Rubicon
Head down to the Marina Rubicon in Playa Blanca this weekend to enjoy a taste of tradtional Spanish cuisine. As the upmarket port plays host to a Wine and Food weekend, with tapas dishes and local wines being offered at six restaurants.
Eleven of the island's bodegas will have samples of their wines available, including El Grifo, La Geria, Bermejos, Bodega Stratvs, Bodega Rubicon, Vega de Yuco and several others.
The restaurants participating in this gastronomic event are Casa Roja, Casa Brigida, Afrodite, Lanis and La Petit Marmite.
Each establishment will be offering visitors the opportunity to try four different tapas dishes or wines for five euros. In addition, there will be entertainment in and around the port with live music, children's activities, competitions and street theatre.
The organizers hope to attract both local residents and tourist visitors to Marina Rubicon between 10.00 in the morning and until 15.30. In November last year, a similar event was held in Teguise which attracted over 2,000 people and saw 6,000 tastings of local wines and food.
