JUST THE TONIC Cheers For Lanzarote’s First Boutique Gin
Ave del Paraiso, Lanzarote’s first homegrown boutique gin brand, has just hit the market…
The new Bird Of Paradise gin has been distilled in Uga right here on Lanzarote, boasting some truly unique and evocative botanics and flavours. Such as distilled sweet potato (a traditional food staple in the archipelago), sugar cane and of course that all important gin ingredient juniper.
The brand concept draws inspiration from the Bird of Paradise flower – Strelitzia Reginae, a South African native that is also used widely across the Canaries and which also first arrived on British shores back in 1773.
Boutique gins have of course become big business over the last few years – a trend spearheaded by the now ubiquitous Bombay Sapphire brand. With craft distilleries setting up shop all over the UK. Here on Lanzarote Ave del Paraiso was launched at the tail end of 2017 and is still slowly building a presence in retail outlets on the island.
You can keep an eye on its availability by visiting the Ave del Paraiso website.
