New Audio Guide for Mirador Del Rio

Tourists visiting the Mirador del Rio can now hear all about the building's history on a new audioguide which has just been produced by the Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism. Available in English, Spanish and German the guides can be accessed for just €1.

This new service takes full advantage of the latest technology, with the guide available as a download from the website for the Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism. So visitors can save an audio copy onto their mobile phone before they arrive at the Mirador.

Or alternatively, once at the entrance to the attraction, they can enter a code on any 3G device or smartphone to download the file whilst they are at the Mirador.

In addition, the guide is also available for those with hearing problems as a video, at present using only Spanish sign language, which can be viewed on an Ipod Touch.

The guides provide full details of the building's history and its construction as well as biographical information about César Manrique. The building was designed by Manrique in 1973 and retains numerous architectural characteristics that are typical of his creations.

It also covers some of the history of the neighbouring island of La Graciosa and information about the other Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism. Accompanying the verbal guide is a musical soundtrack, composed by Lanzaroteño Toñin Corujo.
