Hiring a bike in Lanzarote offers a cheap and easy way to get around the island.

Since the recent improvements to the road infrastructure in Puerto del Carmen, with its dedicated cycle lane, a number of new bike hire companies have sprung up. Hiring a bicycle is a lovely way to see the main resorts, as all three holiday towns have large expanses of flat ground, ideal for cycling. From Puerto del Carmen it is possible to cycle all the way along the seafront to Arrecife, whilst Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise also have extensive seafront promenades with space for cyclists.

Rental rates for bicycles are affordable, especially if you book the bike for a few days rather than just one. Most companies offer a range of extras, such as locks, water bottles, baskets and bicycles for children. Whilst some have gone a little further and can offer tandems or cycle carriages for hire.
